After the storm – it was shoes that brought Dorothy back to Kansas, reminding her that the power to change the world was inside of her all the while.
“K” was a solemn little girl. Life was hard. Each day seemed like a storm of sorts. And every time the house fell there were no ruby slippers waiting to rescue her. Her head stayed down – – her face expressionless.
But one day a counselor, armed with Care For Kids resources, placed a pair of beautiful new shoes and warm winter coat in the path of “K”.
“K’s” smile moved the storm clouds away. And for one whole day the sun lit the classroom in the form of a smile.
Sometimes it takes a tangible to awaken the intangible power of love. Love came in the form of a coat and a new pair of shoes. And a smile was born.
Welcome home “K”. You were meant to know love.
